..Random Acts (RAK #1)..

Gypsy Gems,

For those of you just tuning in, this blog revolves around the fact that I practice good karma and spread some of my gypsy love by gifting my handmade, one-of-a-kind earrings (and charms) to those I meet, have met and/or love. My gifting is sporadic and random. I gift to waiters at restaurants, to peers at music shows, approach strangers in airports, and reach out to old childhood friends to provide them with a little something in hopes that it will create a "moment" for them.

I believe that random acts of kindness should not be dying deed. I am trying to do my part to sustain the endangered species of selfless acts. As it turns out there is an amazing organization that is doing just the same. The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation inspires people to practice kindness and pass it on to others. Their website has this incredible resource that allows the sharing of Kindness Ideas to ignite an urge to participate in the movement.

I have decided to spread their word in hopes of inspiring YOU to participate. I will post ideas of random acts of kindness (RAK) and if one speaks to you - I challenge you to complete the task. I would LOVE to hear about your triumph. Email me: gypsykarmafashion@gmail.com.

RAK Inspiration # 1 - Give Care packs to the Homeless

There are so many everyday necessities and toiletries that we take for granted - toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, deodorant, snacks, gloves, socks, a warm blanket, etc.

Imagine how you would feel if you didn't have access to these small things. Well many people in our community can't afford these simple things. By donating even the smallest items to those who don't have them, you'll be providing someone with a greater sense of self worth.

Does this speak to you? If so, what are you waiting for?

Get Inspired and Spread the Love.

Much Love.

Until Next Time,

<3 Your GypsyQueen

..Gifting encounter in Michigan II..

Gypsy Gems,

I am finally in Toronto :)

I have been walking around all morning enjoying the cold but fresh air. The city is so festive and I can really feel the Christmas spirit. It is only 2:30 but I have seen 1) carollers, 2) runners in Christmas attire (Santa hats, red bathing suits and speedos) , 3) Christmas buskers (dressed as elves, etc) and 4) men dressed as toy soldiers holding the door for me at Holts.

Toronto, I am in Love with you.

Okay, okay, lets back track for a second and let me finish telling you about my gifting encounters in Michigan.

I gifted another earring to a co-worker I met last week who resides in Vancouver. She was a lovely lady who I really connected with during the two weeks I was in Michigan. I gifted her a multi-colored jewel with a elongated gold leaf charm. The feathers were bright green, blue, orange, and black and white polka dots. The jewel was named "Oh so Pretty" - kind of an inside joke we had.

I know what you are probably thinking, "you went to Michigan and didn't gift any jewels to Americans"... The nature of the business trip made it very difficult to do so. But that's okay. I have a few jewels that have made their way to the states: New York, San Fran - still waiting on pictures, and North Carolina.

Anyway, I am off to Kensington Market - one of my favourite places on earth with one of my favourite ladies on earth.

Until Next Time,

Much Love

..Gifting encounters in Michigan..

Gypsy Gems,

I am sitting in the Cleveland airport waiting to board the plane for "home". Home is where the right is right? Well, my heart is in Toronto. I'll be spending the week in Toronto for work but I will get to manage to spend the weekend and evenings with good friends who reside in Toronto... I just want to get there already!

I had sucess in Michigan! I gifted two gypsy jewels. The first one, "Key to School of Hard Rock" was gifted to a lovely co-worker I met this past week who resides in Montreal. (I had the pleasure of working with a team from across the country: Subury,Vancouver, Hamilton, Montreal and Moncton).  She was absolute gem, so gifting her a gyspy jewel was the only appropriate thing to do. The jewel was comprised of three feathers: bright green, black and green polka dots and black and white polka dots, with an elongated key charm. The name was inspired by a green Essie nailpolish we both purchased named "School of Hard Rock", and we both happened to sport key necklaces. It was absolutely fitting.

Oh, the plane is boarding. I will post about my other encounter soon. Hopefully I will have more in Toronto.

Until Next Time,

Much Love.

..Connecting the dots with Steve Jobs..

Gypsy Gems,

I was having a day, and a beautiful gem shared this video with me. The video is of the late Steve Jobs' Standford commencement speech. It's a must see about perseverance, following curosity, intuition, and dreams and being able to connect the dots - backwards.

What are you waiting for? Click Play. You won't regret it.

Stay Hungry, Gems, Stay Foolish.

Until Next Time,

Much Love.
