..Gifting encounter in Michigan II..

Gypsy Gems,

I am finally in Toronto :)

I have been walking around all morning enjoying the cold but fresh air. The city is so festive and I can really feel the Christmas spirit. It is only 2:30 but I have seen 1) carollers, 2) runners in Christmas attire (Santa hats, red bathing suits and speedos) , 3) Christmas buskers (dressed as elves, etc) and 4) men dressed as toy soldiers holding the door for me at Holts.

Toronto, I am in Love with you.

Okay, okay, lets back track for a second and let me finish telling you about my gifting encounters in Michigan.

I gifted another earring to a co-worker I met last week who resides in Vancouver. She was a lovely lady who I really connected with during the two weeks I was in Michigan. I gifted her a multi-colored jewel with a elongated gold leaf charm. The feathers were bright green, blue, orange, and black and white polka dots. The jewel was named "Oh so Pretty" - kind of an inside joke we had.

I know what you are probably thinking, "you went to Michigan and didn't gift any jewels to Americans"... The nature of the business trip made it very difficult to do so. But that's okay. I have a few jewels that have made their way to the states: New York, San Fran - still waiting on pictures, and North Carolina.

Anyway, I am off to Kensington Market - one of my favourite places on earth with one of my favourite ladies on earth.

Until Next Time,

Much Love

..Gifting encounters in Michigan..

Gypsy Gems,

I am sitting in the Cleveland airport waiting to board the plane for "home". Home is where the right is right? Well, my heart is in Toronto. I'll be spending the week in Toronto for work but I will get to manage to spend the weekend and evenings with good friends who reside in Toronto... I just want to get there already!

I had sucess in Michigan! I gifted two gypsy jewels. The first one, "Key to School of Hard Rock" was gifted to a lovely co-worker I met this past week who resides in Montreal. (I had the pleasure of working with a team from across the country: Subury,Vancouver, Hamilton, Montreal and Moncton).  She was absolute gem, so gifting her a gyspy jewel was the only appropriate thing to do. The jewel was comprised of three feathers: bright green, black and green polka dots and black and white polka dots, with an elongated key charm. The name was inspired by a green Essie nailpolish we both purchased named "School of Hard Rock", and we both happened to sport key necklaces. It was absolutely fitting.

Oh, the plane is boarding. I will post about my other encounter soon. Hopefully I will have more in Toronto.

Until Next Time,

Much Love.

..Recap of Montreal..

Gypsy Gems,

I am back from Montreal. The journey home was a treacherous - but I made it back in one piece. Driving home from Montreal was a struggle, my friends and I got stuck in a snow storm and had to crash at a motel... get this, the motel was called "HappyClubMotel". We really had no other choice, we were not willing to drive a mile further, the roads were just too bad. When we checked in to the motel the lovely receptionist gave us a discount, "in case we return", and told us that that the staff were "happy people".

Overall Montreal was a success, I gifted a few gypsy Jewels, enjoyed lovely cuisine, bought way too many fashionable goodies, saw an old friend from university and saw Jay-Z and Kanye West in concert.

The concert did not disappoint. It was simply epic. See the video below for clips from the show.

Another highlight (besides gifting gypsy jewels) was having dinner in the dark at O.Noir. Yes, you read that correctly - in. the. dark.. O.Noir is a unique sensual dining experience enjoying delicious food, drink and conversation in an environment were remaining senses are heightened. Servers are visually impaired (a population that generally experiences 70% unemployment rate) and a portion of proceeds are donated to support local associations that serve the visually impaired.

Montreal was a success. Now its time for laundry and re-packing for Michigan.

Much Love.

Until Next Time,

..FiftyEight..

Gypsy Gems,

I am so excited to share that tonight I gifted my 58th gypsy jewel. I have been keeping a log of all the lovely ladies and (the few) men I have encountered and presented with a handmade one-of-a-kind gypsy jewel.

Each and every experience has been unique and rewarding. I simply believe that random acts of kindness should not be a dieing deed. I am one lonely girl, trying to do her part to sustain the endangered species of selfless acts.

In other news, I received some beautiful photos this week and cannot wait to make it back to my apartment this weekend to make the posts. I am travelling for work (story of my life) and don't have the programs I need to make the post. But more posts are on their way :)

Speaking of travel, I will be travelling quite a bit in the next few months. I will be heading to Montreal in November, Grand Rapids, Michigan for part of November and December and Toronto in December. If any gypsy gems are in those areas and would like to be apart of this social experiment - please send me an email to gypsykarmafashion@gmail.com.

Until Next Time,

Much Love.
