..Gifting encounter in Michigan II..

Gypsy Gems,


I am finally in Toronto :)


I have been walking around all morning enjoying the cold but fresh air. The city is so festive and I can really feel the Christmas spirit. It is only 2:30 but I have seen 1) carollers, 2) runners in Christmas attire (Santa hats, red bathing suits and speedos) , 3) Christmas buskers (dressed as elves, etc) and 4) men dressed as toy soldiers holding the door for me at Holts.


Toronto, I am in Love with you.


Okay, okay, lets back track for a second and let me finish telling you about my gifting encounters in Michigan.


I gifted another earring to a co-worker I met last week who resides in Vancouver. She was a lovely lady who I really connected with during the two weeks I was in Michigan. I gifted her a multi-colored jewel with a elongated gold leaf charm. The feathers were bright green, blue, orange, and black and white polka dots. The jewel was named "Oh so Pretty" - kind of an inside joke we had.

I know what you are probably thinking, "you went to Michigan and didn't gift any jewels to Americans"... The nature of the business trip made it very difficult to do so. But that's okay. I have a few jewels that have made their way to the states: New York, San Fran - still waiting on pictures, and North Carolina.


Anyway, I am off to Kensington Market - one of my favourite places on earth with one of my favourite ladies on earth.

..I love me some Brie..

Gypsy Gems,

I am just sitting here in my apartment, unwinding from a long long long day. I am listening to some music I would love to share. I am loving the following video of Brie Neilson.

Brie, a Vancouver native currently residing in Montreal, is a beautiful soul and talented artist. Brie is a stunning singer/songwriter, a musical teacher and creates beautiful paintings.

Brie and I met earlier this year when she was on tour. I contacted and gifted Brie the gypsy jewel "Coral Reef". Brie was able to send me a quick image of her sporting the jewel. Stunning. Brie, darling, I can't wait to see more images of you.

I sent my final batch of earrings today, before I leave for my Euro trip. My earrings have either travelled to, or are on their way to the following locations:

I leave for Europe on Friday - 3 more days, and I simply cannot wait to gift my earrings to those I meet throughout my travels. I wonder how people will react to a gift,  from a  random stranger. Will they be receptive. Perhaps they will be reluctant and think there is some sort of catch. I look forward to documenting my social encounters - good and bad.

The Experiment is Underway

Gypsy Gems,


So I was thinking... why am I limiting myself? Why am I only providing love to those I meet during my travels? What about the lovely ladies I have already met? I know they deserve some love too.

I told some of those I love about my social experiment, and received nothing but positive feedback. They either wanted on board or directed me to someone they knew who would likely be interested.

I have already gifted a number of earrings to the locations listed below. These loved ones include a musician I let crash at my apartment while on tour, a friend of a friend, a past co-worker, a stand partner during high school Orchestra lessons, a friend's younger sister, university students I met at business conferences in Mexico and the Netherlands, as well as others with similar unique stories.

My earrings have travelled to the following locales:
