..Gift Encounter No. 9 and 10 (Madrid)..

Gypsy Gems,


I am writing you from London. It is late and I should be sleeping as I have an early flight in the morning. This is my last evening in Europe - my trip is coming to an end. But not to worry my little gems, the stories and the encounters have not all been told. 


Rewind to about a week ago - I will continue to where I left off... Madrid. I assumed travelling to Madrid would get lonely – seeing how I was a party of one.  But to my surprise, it was quite the opposite.

I spent some time with an old friend from high school, was introduced to her friends (see previous post). I managed to make some friends at the hostel I was staying at. AND my friend whom I was visiting in Milan, put me in contact with Mimmi; a friend from school.

I gifted earring No. 9 to Mimmi, its an earring I called "Robot's Tear". The earring has bright blue, purple and black and purple polka dot feathers with a blue triangle charm. Mimmi is a sweetheart, who went out of her way to meet me, introduce me to the city and invite me for amazing tapas with her roommate and friends.  (Thanks Mimmi – I had a wonderful time!).  I was nervous to gift the earring to her; however,  as I found out during our discussion that she works for a Spanish Jewellery Company - quite intimidating. Even though I was nervous, I stuck to my gut and presented her with the gift. She seemed quite happy with it and showed her roommate (Sofie) who quickly indicated that she would be borrowing the earring. 

Luckily, I had additional earrings in my purse, and was able to gift one that was well suited to Sofie - an earring I call "Pretty in Black". The earring has a solid black feather with a regal crown charm.

Ladies, it was a pleasure to meet you - I will be eagerly awaiting your pictures.

..Gift Encounter No. 6, 7 and 8 (Madrid)..

Gypsy Gems,


My first day in Madrid was amazing - better than expected. Shortly after I arrived at my hostel, I met up with an old friend from High School (Sarah) who is living and working in Madrid. She started the afternoon by enjoying typical Spanish Tapas (appetizers) and ended with a lovely walking tour of the city. 


Sarah is vibrant and has unique style. To compliment her personality I gifted her a vibrant colored gypsy jewel I named "Rockstar". The earring has a star charm with a diamond like gem, along with bright pink, green and blue feathers.


She was happy to receive the gift, and allowed me to take photos of her during our walk. The photos, I shall update soon (once I am back in Milan and reunited with my computer).


The second day in Madrid, I was invited to Sarah's apartment followed by a concert. At Sarah's, I ate delicious home-made kish and met her friends Asya and Laura. Laura is a native of Madrid, while Asya moved to Madrid a year ago to work, but is originally from Oman. I gifted Laura a gypsy jewel I call "Red Sea", with red and yellow feathers and a red charm resembling coral, and to Asya a gypsy jewel I call "Crimson Red", with red, black and white feathers and a red pearl charm.


Asya and Laura, I cannot wait to receive some photos of you rocking the jewels. Enjoy.

Gift Encounter No. 5 (Milan)

Gypsy Gems,

I am writing you from a Hostel in Madrid. I am sorry I have neglected you all for so long - I have been having such a lovely time during my travels and haven´t had a moment to catch my breathe let alone write you all a message.

London was lovely. It is a loud and busy city - which complimented my personality quite well. Milan has my heart. Perhaps its because my friend lives there, or perhaps its the fact that it is bursting with culture and has food that pleases my palete. Unintentionally, I managed to be in London and Milan during their Fashion Weeks - this likely added to the hustle and bustle.

Anyway, I must tell you about my gift encounter. It occured at the Malpensa Airport, after landing in Milan. I had seen a lovely lady in floral print (my second favorite print - after cougar, of course) at the Gatewick airport (in London). We exchanged a smile at the security check in London. She excerted positive energy - I wanted to gift her an earring, but the timing wasn´t right. Not in security. I had the perfect earring for her, ¨Fallen Leaf¨, with vibrant orange, black and white feathers and a gold charm of an interesting leaf.

Just as I was kicking myself for not taking making the opportunity - the girl in the floral print walked onto the plane - my plane - heading to Milan. What are the odds? After landing in Milan, and while waiting for our baggage I presented her with the gift. She was very warm and welcoming - I was nervous.

I really hope she takes the opportunity to sport my earring and take some pictures. I will be anxiously waiting by my computer.
